King George Dragons Slay Warriors To Win 1st City Banner

AAA HM Windermere came into the game 2-0 against AA #4 King George but it was the Dragons that walked away with the 2016 AA/AAA Vancouver banner. Led by 2017 F Yoel Teclehaimanot’s 37p, the Dragons’ intense energy throughout the game would see them outlast the Warriors. KG jumped out to an early 10-3 lead in the 1st but only led 35-33 at half. It was in the second half that Teclehaimanot continued to score in a variety of ways, putting up 14 in the 3rd and 12 in the final quarter. Windermere knocked down 3 straight triples to make it a 71-69 game for the Dragons but couldn’t find the shot to tie it up. KG hit 4 straight FTs and capped it off with a layup to give them their first ever city championship.
