VanCity Basketball Academy U16 Elite Team

From VanCity Basketball Founder/Owner Jamie Oei:

VanCity Basketball Academy is excited to announce our first ever Fully sponsored U16 Boys Elite Club Basketball Team. After a full year of watching club and high school basketball throughout the Lower Mainland VanCity Head Coach Peter Sprogis and VanCity Owner Jamie Oei identified some of the top Grade 10 players. The identified players attended three days of tryouts, challenged by the opportunity to play with some of the very best players in their age group within BC and the opportunity of a full scholarship. Coach Peter was able to make the final selection based on character, work ethic, coachability and high skill level. With the generosity of Coach Peter and the dedication to the process, VanCity Basketball Academy is excited to announce the following Elite U16 Team:

Head Coach/Financier: Peter Sprogis

“When i first started this idea of sponsoring a team which I discussed with Jamie, I never realized how significant this could be for some of the players until i started to get some feedback from both players and parents – it has struck me that at the age of 16 players now have to understand that they have real obligations and responsibilities in return for the sponsorship – this is not “easy street” – players now have to be “serious” – they have to commit, they have to try their hardest each and every practice – this is not just about games but this program is meant to improve players and get them ready for the next level. How well each player does depends on the effort they put in – welcome “to the Journey” – VanCity Basketball Academy Head Coach Peter Sprogis
